You are bidding on a rare antique Steele & Johnson lighter which was sold under the brand of Capitol lighters. Complex mechanism opens the top of the lighter. This piece measures 4.5 inches tall with the handle having a patent date of 1912. Even though the patent says 1912, I believe this lighter was manufactured between 1927 and 1931. This automatic petrol lighter features a snap up leveraged mechanism. Constructed of brass or bronze. It appears to be functional but no spark.
