DESCRIPTION.Original 19th century oil on canvas depicting a cottage by a waterside on a cloudy day, signed and dated 'J. F. Cole, 1876' at the lower right corner. ...Presented in a twentieth century swept gilt frame.
The work is in an excellent antique condition. The canvas remains unlined and shows no visible signs of restoration. Light toning and craquelure can be seen throughout. The frame is in an excellent vintage condition.
