VERY RARE! Antique FAIRBANKS-MORSE & CO. Fish Tail / Crows Foot Style Iron & Brass Scale. Made Chicago, IL U.S.A. for General Store Use. Measures ounces to 70 lbs. Balance beam style, with a 10" plate. The beam is well marked in gold, the scale still works perfectly.
The Original Maker's Plate is attached. CODE 11800, Serial Number G197283. Scant if any rust. A bit of chipping paint on the circular balance plate.
This was pulled from the orig...inal dairy room from our farm here in Virginia. I've cleaned off the cobwebs and dusted it off; that's it. Clean or refurbish to your desired condition. Right now it's in our new dairy office, with fruit for our snacks on the balance plate. Looks right good like this. I gotta say, this is one cool antique.
