Here is an antique Abbey & Imbrie brass ball handled casting reel. The reel was probably made by Julius vom Hofe. It is a size 3 marked on the foot and has the Abbey & Imbrie crossed hooks trade mark stamp on the head cap. The reel spins nice. As you can see from the photos the reel foot has been poorly cut down and filed. The reel measures 2 3/8" in diameter and has a 1 3/4" spool width. The handle knob is made from hard rubber.
