This is a rare, fully marked Tete Jumeau. This is one of the first "new" dolls the Jumeau co. introduced after they created the S.F.B.J. conglomerate of other French doll companies. This was a new mold, introduced in 1899 and was marked with the same fired on Tete Jumeau decal that was used on some of the earlier Tete dolls. There is a lightly incised 9 on the lower socket. The Tete mark on this mold was later dropped and the mold became the Unis head. Not many of t...hese early dolls with the Tete decal are found today. Her beautiful head is nearly perfect except for a short tight hairline on the back rim, it could be a kiln stress. She has her original working sleep eyes with real and painted lashes. She has a shaded open mouth with four teeth, a lovely smooth complexion and pierced ears. She's on her original body that's well strung and in its original paint. She has a mute speaker and a non-working pull string on the left side. Her clothing is all antique except for the pantaloons. I think her slip is original, it's clean but the stains seem to be permanent. Her antique batiste dress is from my collection. She wears genuine French antique leather shoes, the right sole is marked: 8, MODELE, DEPOSE, outline of boot, DEPOSE. Her head is stuffed with tissue paper so she doesn't sleep for now. Her pate is lightly attached and her replaced wig is simply pinned to it. This rare fully marked beautiful Tete Jumeau doll is ready for display in the finest of collections. The doll stand is not included. I ship out of continental US with Global International Shipping only. PayPal payment only. Thank you for looking at my auction.
