Rare and fantastic, ca1906 Veterinary Medicine Tin Lithograph Advertising Tin / Full Product Package containing "Dr. Daniel's Hoof Grower and Softener".
This rare, turn of the 20th century Tin Lithograph Patent Veterinary Medicine Tin measures approx. 2 1/2” tall and 3” in diameter. It contained "Dr. Daniel's Hoof Grower and Softener / Warranted to Please or Money Refunded". The "Cure" was guaranteed to grow "A New Hoof in Three or Four Months". The Tin ...features a bust portrait of Dr. Daniel on the lid and two images of a horse's hoof on the sides - one showing the damaged hoof and the other showing a healthy hoof after the use of Dr. Daniel's Patent Veterinary Medicine!!
The tin is unsigned by the manufactured but carries a 1902 patent notice and a 1906 Food and Drug Act notice. It is lithographed in black inks on a mustard yellow background and is in very good condition with some scattered spots of surface loss and surface scuffing as well as some soiling as can be seen in the scans below. There is no significant surface oxidation, no breaks or dents and no rust through on any panel. The Tin retains its original contents and also retains the vast majority of the original japanning to the bottom surface.
