PROTAMI
(Deluxe Pocket Field Microscope)
by HENSOLDTof Wetzlar, Germany
Produced from ca. 1925 to ca. 1939
with an early serial numberof 2685
Dimensions: The case is 6" tall with a diameter at the bottom of 2 5/8" and diameter at the top 1 1/2".
The serial number is on both the microscope and the top of the case. The stage swivels. There are two not three rotating objective lenses above the stage, one is labeled "M" and the other "...T".
CONDITION: While the microscope is missing one of the three objective lenses, everything else appears to be in good working order. There is no damage to the missing lens hole, so one could easily be screwed into the opening. There is some superficial rubbing to the black finish on the microscope and more loss of paint on the outside (bottom of the base). The paint finish has crackling or crazing, though according to one source this was the a feature of the original finish. The cover has some chipping of the paint. Please examine all nine photographs of this microscope for a better idea of its condition.
