Original Description:
Antique hardwood rope-bed tightener, circa mid-1800's, looks hand carved, nice patina. It has either the maker's or owner's name, W. Wheeler, carved on two sides.  I've seen a lot of tighteners over the years (I'm sure you have too) and this is without a doubt the finest. It's a museum quality piece that will compliment any period rope-bed bedroom or display you have.
