1800s Swiss Cylinder Music Box 22 " Long 12 Songs All Well Missing The Lock

HELLO .... thanks for looking . PLEASE NOTE ............ this item is selling AS-IS ....... i will describe it to the best of my ability , but nearly every item i sell is from 50 to 100 years old and will show some sign of wear.. THIS LISTING ........ is for a wonderful old music box ...... i can find no makers name or a date , but certainly sometime during the late 1800's would seem likely ....... no name either , but it is so complex that it must be Swiss or French ...... ( i... hope someone knows for sure and can e-mail me more about this instrument ). the machine works beautifully ..... the crank on the left side is pulled back to wind the spring mechanism ....... there are total of 12 songs on this machine ...... one will play after another unless you select to play only one in a constant repetition mode . this is fresh from a recent estate auction in Indiana ...... there are only a few flaws to the cabinet ..... some small loss to the veneer on the tight end of the lid ( as shown )...... the lock is missing ..... and there used to be a glass that covered the mechanism and kept out the dirt ...... it is also missing and i presume broken ....... and thats all the damage to the case ...... nothing to do with the mechanism save for a bit of cleaning of the brass and maybe some oil somewhere here and there ...... i have made no effort at all to clean anything ...... it comes to you exactly as i found it there is a bit of inlay / marquetry on the lid ....... and the box measures a little more than .... 22 inches wide ....... 8 inches deep ..... and 6 inches tall i listened to each of the songs to make sure they all played ...... and all 12 were amazing and complicated ...... it seems that the cylinder shifts ever so slightly and goes from tune to tune ........ i see no missing bits on the comb ..... i see no missing pins that strike the notes on the comb ...... i found a few of these that were similar on a google search and some were many thousands of dollars ...... but i got a del on this one and the wood case does need some love ...... so there is no reserve tonight ....... still it is heavy ( 26 lbs) and so shipping will not be cheap thanks for taking the time to look at my item ..... i remember when ebay used to let me run a movie of this and allowed as many pictures as i needed ....... sigh ;( ...... all different after Meg took over . . . we USUALLY have around 500 antique , odd , unusual & collectible items listed in our.....
