Here we have a quite Rare Flat Back Railroad Travel WOODEN HAT BOX w/ Metal Latch....Very Unique and I have never seen one like this before! Obtained  from a grand daughter who stated that this box was used by her late grandmother in the 1920's era when she made many trips on the train from Pittsburgh to New York City to visit relatives!   Solid wood and in very nice condition with no cracks or splits in the wood!  It is a RARE "flat back design" which made it quite... easy to lay flat on the train above the seats !  Latch is swing-type and is metal and works great and the top swing carry handle is near perfect!!!  It measures about 10" tall and about 10" across the top...No maker mark that I could find!!  I wish I knew more but I have not been able to find one quite like this one. Selling as is with a Great Low Opening Bid & No Reserve! Good Luck Bidding!!!!!
