13 " Antique Bisque Head 1920 ' S Era German 1159 Simon & Halbig Flapper Doll

12-13" German made 1920's era Simon and Halbig Flapper Doll
This is a very beautiful doll wearing an outfit that is just as vintage as she is. She has heeled feet designed to wear heeled shoes making her 13 inches. She is a bisque socket head on a composition/wood body. Her stringing is good and still original by th...e looks of it. She has had no repairs, no hairlines, no chipping. She does have a couple of places where the cheek flesh is rubbed off, off a speck on her nose, and also on her eyebrow all on the same side of the head ....looking at her it would be her left side. Under a light she has a piece of slip when she was made near the lower part of her nose that can be scene as a dark speck in the picture under a light, very teeny tiny and not scene. Under the light the cheek paint is not a hairline crack as you can see in the photo. Nothing is on the inside of the head as well. Her eyes are German glass eyes that open and shut with ease. they are a darker blue circle with a lighter blue from there with the pupil in the center. I found no cracks in the glass eyes. One eye lid has some paint color rubbed off normal from wear of opening and shutting of the rocker eyes. Inside her head the eyes are set as they were originally. She has 4 porcelain original teeth. No holes in her ears for earrings. Her mouth is open. I have heard her eyebrows to be called brush stroke eyebrows. Her mohair wig is very spare and a light brown in color. It was pretty tight to the head and I did loosen it to see the inside and took pictures to show her condition. Her body is a slender flapper body much less in detail that the larger ones as far as personal women items as her breast. She has extremely low wear shown to her body. Only place found to show age wear is the inside upper part under one leg knee joint of one side only. Rest of body is in wonderful condition. She has no flaking or tips rubbed down on finger ends. There are thin red lines separating her fingers with no color missing. She has hair combs in her hair as a head band.
She is marked on the head with 1159 at the top near the back of the hair line and Simon & Halbig across the center back of head. She also has an H which stands for Handwerch Body according to most books she is in. Her arms are long and graceful. They are one piece with no joints at the elbow. Legs are graceful as well with longer lower leg. Areas on doll that strung is covered over with some kind of filler. It looks like it was naturally there.
Since 1915, the flapper styles were introduced on the market with dolls showing off the clothes in hopes it would be a style that women would want. The roaring 1920's were the peak of that fashion era and dolls like this were admired. If you need and more pictures, have any other questions, please do not hesitate to ask. Outfit is all pieces in photo and on doll displayed. No shoes. Handmade clothes are a soft pink and beige vintage lace used for fancy night clothes on a lady.
Postage is for shipped doll in a good grade box and enough room to keep her from being damaged in shipping with insurance. ANY postage left is returned.
