Vintage Julius vom Hofe "Wm. Mills & Son" German Silver Salmon Reel w/Adj. Drag is in excellent used condition. The reel is about 4 inches in diameter, has a constant click, turns freely and the drag works fine. The ends of the foot have been nicely tapered. The reel appears to try and mimic the Edward vom Hofe Restigouche reel with it's "S" shape handle and rear plate adjustable drag. The drag is adjusted by depressing the button on the rear plate and then moving the pointer betwe...en the "Heavy" and "Light" settings. The reel contains the 1928 patent attributed to Julius vom Hofe, Jr., which is 21 years after his father died in 1907. The patent is shown in the photos.
