Up for bids is a Butz-Choquin “Rocbrune”estate pipe, No. 1310, made in St. Claude, France. The Rocbrune series features pipesthat have a darker, rugged rustication, that offers a stimulating feel in the hand. NOTE:Butz-Choquinwas officially closed down, effective September 13, 2019, by FrenchLaw (liquidation judicaire), because of financial difficulties going backto atleast 2017. Butz-Choquin pipes arealready becoming collectors’ items. Acqui...re this beauty now ! This pipe is a ¾ bent Brandy with a roundshank and a saddle bit. It has a pebble grain look with a medium walnutstain, both adding to the beauty of this outstanding piece of craftsmanship ! The “R” of Rocbrune is truncated off the shank, probably in error when it was being made. I am not aware of anyButz-Choquin pipes branded as “Ocbrune”. This flaw may add to the pipe's collectibility. The pipe has been reamed, sanitized, waxed, and buffed back to near-newcondition. The original stem is in immaculate condition. This pipe is ready to smoke and isin superb condition. Approx.
