This is a vintage Chinese Dragon robe. I did have it looked at to determine age. I was told it is Republic Period circa 1920-late 1930's. I was also told it would not have been for court use but sold as a keepsake. In very good condition with beautiful embroidery. It has 9 dragons in all with one being on an interior front flap. Fastens at top with knot closures and ties at side in two places. There is some light fading on the upper sleeves where the sleeves have been creased. DIfficul...t to photograph because of the sheen of the fabric. The third photo shows the top of one of the sleeves. There are two white lines on one of the sleeves as seen in photo four. There is also a little embroidery damage on the back as seen in photo six. It is really difficult to notice in the context of all the embroidery. This measures about 57" from the top of one shoulder to bottom edge. It is about 29" across, from underarm to underarm.
