Original Description:
Naive perspective creates incredibly tender faces.   Martha Amanda February 13, 1836 Aged 3 Years and Joseph Williams October 8, 1836 Aged 3 Months. Children of Mr & Mrs William Woodard. Farewell we sure may meet again in brighter worlds - Farewell till then. Signed Rehoboth January 2, 1837. Presented to Miss (sic) Emma. Woodard family shows extensively in Bristol County, Rehoboth Massachusetts. Fine and tonal ink / gouache or watercolor work.... Measures 12.25 x 14.75” with obvious loss, heavy toning block, minor foxing, tears and glue residue. Subject is largely unaffected, the great majority of restoration would need to address the edges and french line.Tears have been stabilized with archival rice starch tape. Museum quality and more than worthy of the repair effort.
