VINTAGE IRON - WOOD CARVING of SAGUARO CACTUS (camegiea gigantean) Size: 15" x 6 3/4". Const: Hand Craved. Matls: Iron-Wood. Cond: Used, Very Good. The Saguaro Cactus Is One Of The Defining Plants Of The Sonoran Desert. These Plants Are Large, Tree-Like Columnar Cacti That Develop Branches (or arms) As They Age, Although Some Never Grow Arms. These Arms Generally Bend Upward And Can Number Over 25 Arms. Saguaros Are Cover With Protective Spines, White Flowers In Late Spring, And Red Fr...uit In Summer. You Find This Cactus In Southern Arizona And Western Sonora, Mexico. Saguaros Can Live To Be As Much As 150 to 200 Years Old, And Can Be 40 to 60 Feet Tall And Weight Between 3200 to 4800 Pounds.
