CONDITION:
This rare archaistic Chinese Ru-type Vase is made in the shape after a metalwork form (there are two rows of 8 'rivets'). The thick 'ru' glaze is unctuous (oily) to the touch, with no crazing and lots of bubbles. I have only seen this type of glaze once before on a vase at Sotheby's New York. Lot 21, on 29th March 2011. I can not add a link here but if you google the auction you will find it. - As can clearly be seen in my photographs this vase has old damage to the top rim which is honestly glued back in place. There are no hairlines or cracks off this damage and a professional ceramic restorer could invisibly repair this vase. - Rest assured this fine vase is a genuine antique and NOT a modern copy. I am sure the winner of this auction will be absolutely delighted. - Good Luck!
