Stamped with an English registry mark Rd No 350721.
The intricately designed doorknocker is entitled sanctuary It depicts a man with a sword using a door knocker to knock on a Gothic style door with a Durham coat of arms crest. Likely Durham Castle.
These types of door knockers were usually used for bedroom doors. It could easily be used on an exterior door though due to its larger than normal... chamber door size knocker.
