Jess Chonowitsch, no intro needed, designed the Pipe of the Year in 1989 for Stanwell. While it's referred to as a Danish Billiard it looks more Egg shaped to me. The ring grain blast is stellar showing off a very fine piece of briar in a dark reddish brown finish. The silver plaque reads STANWELL 1989 and the cylindrical shank leads to a tapered fishtail stem with inlaid silver crowned "S". Stanwell's pipe of the year are almost all designed by different Danish masters and this one by... Jess is a stellar one indeed.

Condition: Excellent. Some rim darkening with some outside edge charring. Stem is near mint.
