The turned topholds a glassStanhope viewer with 6 views of Eastbourne (South England coast). Thetop ishard to read but it has the name of the seller J PulsfordBookseller, 80 Terminus Road in Eastbourne.
Thecondition of the parasol is excellent with no chips, cracks or otherdamage and itmeasure...s 5 1/4" long. It screws together well and has some old needles. Similarneedle cases are shown on p. 73 of Gay Ann Rogers' excellent book The Illustrated History ofNeedlework Tools.
*Thisitem is made of bone from a domestic cow (bovine) and not from anendangeredspecies.
