You are viewing my 1940's era Ford convertible custom built model. It was built and owned by well known NJ drag racer Joe Saltalamacchia Jr. Aside from being a very good drag racer he was a master modeler. He built this car when he was 11 years old. This car is expertly customized with outstanding light red paint, beige interior and white top. The interior is covered with fabric and Joe put the matching fabric on the running boards. Engine appears to be a blown ...Buick nail head? Nicely done. Very nice wheel and tire combo. You can see the nice under carriage with a sticker on the bottom from a model builders contest. Joe won many trophies for model building which I have.
Joe passed away in 1979 at the age of 29. His models were put away in boxes. The model wears the 1960's dust from when it was put away. Leaving dust on car, new owner can clean dust or leave as is. Can rebuilt to your taste or proudly display as is. Either way it is a time warp piece that does not come available every day. The workmanship and detail and condition on this model are expert and I am reflecting that in the price. You will not find a better custom piece which is nearly 60 years old. It is a great example of how an 11 year old expert model builder would customize a car back in the day. Will pack very carefully. Please review photo's carefully.
