A large portion of the collection was acquired by a well-known Doctor whose family history in China goes back to the 19th century. Up for auction is a LARGE MUSEUM QUALITY PAIR OF JAPANESE MEIJI KUTANI ENAMEL FIGURAL LANDSCAPE VASES. Astonishingly Superb Museum-Quality examples we believe the finest we have personally seen or ever offered. The vases are made of porcelain and signed to bases we believe likely created in the Kutani workshops c1890-1910 Japanese Meiji period. Decor includes an amazing array of gold gilt and iron-red enamel work, some of which was completed with single hair brush, truly astonishing. One can never go wrong acquiring this kind of exceptional quality workmanship.
Condition: Very fine no damage and no repairs. Showing little to no wear to gold gilding throughout vases have been very well looked after. Both vases sit nice and straight.
Size: Impressive large size of 18 3/4 inches tall, by 7 inches wide.
