   Here is a super neat vintage/antique rug beater or carpet whacker--just what every up to date farm wife needs. This rug beater is 27 1/2" total length including the 5 1/4" wooden handle and brass ferrule--it is about 6 1/2" at widest area...the handle is about 1 3/8" across widest area. The business end is made of at least 15 braided or woven wires making it very sturdy plus the handle is also very sturdy and made so you can get a good grip on it. If you aren't really in n...eed of a rug beater--it makes for great primitive wall decor for your farmhouse, cottage, cabin or wherever it is that you call home. 
   This beater is of a kind that is not often seen, especially in this super condition. It is very sturdy with wires completely secure to wooden handle and with tight brass ferrule. The wires have light rust adding to great patina...wooden handle also has great patina with one very small chip and no cracks. Please Zoom and enlarge the pictures for your best description.
