A GOOD LARGE OAK CASED BELL STRIKE FRENCH CLOCK WITH VISIBLE ESCAPEMENT SERVICED

Hi, i have for sale good large oak cased French bell strike clock that has a visible escapement on the front dial.The movement would have been originally housed in a large black slate case from around 1890.At a guess, i would say that the oak case was made around 1910 and made especially for the movement.The case is made of thick oak wood and has a nicely carved art nouveau pattern on the rear door.The movement is fully working and strikes a silvered bell once on the half hour and to t...he number of hours on the hour.The movement also has a visible escapement that rocks away on the front of the dial.The dial has a large enamel chapter ring and a smaller enamel inner dial.This sits behind a thick bevelled glass door.I have taken the movement out for a clean and re oil as a matter of course.The clock runs fine and keeps good time.The case measures 38cm high x 32cm wide x 22cm deep.The condition of the clock is very good, the case has a crack line on the front which has been filled and stained.There is also a crack line at the rear of the case.There are some fine crack lines on the chapter ring and some nibbles around the time setting lug above the 12 numeral.The pendulum is a later marriage but works fine.There are some fine scratches on the bevelled glass.Full setup instructions will be supplied along with a key.Please take a look at the pictures to see the general condition.
