Vintage Ceramic Tea Pot & Stand, Marked ' Made In Japan '

This charming tea pot is very attractive as well as functional. It comes complete with lid and stand and even has a tea strainer inside for those who prefer loose tea. The age of the pot is not known but the shape and design seem more typical of the mid 1950's or before WWII than the 1960's or beyond. Objects imported into the USA were legally required to be marked with the country of origin as well as 'Made IN' beginning in 1921. Items imported from Japan were marked 'Made in Japan' f...or most of the remainder of the 20th century except for the period of American occupation from 1947 to 1952 during which they were marked 'Made in Occupied Japan'.
The pot is in very good condition and remarkably has no chips or cracks (other than a small chip on the underside of the stand). There is crazing over most of the surface. (The white speck seen on the handle in some photos was lint, and after noting in the photos, was removed.) The clover or shamrock design is both whimsical and cheerful.
