ANTIQUE BRASS PATTERN MAKER'S INFILL PLANE WITH 8 SOLES - SIGNED AND BEAUTIFUL!
For your consideration is a beautiful, antique Pattern Maker's Infill Plane and eight (8) soles. The mahogany infill is smooth from normal wear. There is a small chip where the base of the handle meets the sole (see photo 7). All items have been personalized by the original owner. There are multiple stamps of "J.E.BOOTH" on the plane's handle - four in all (see photo 7) and a hand-written "J E B...ooth" in beautiful script on one side as well (see photo 5). The backs of each of the soles are factory stamped with their respective size. Additionally, the backs of the soles are stamped, "J.E.BOOTH" on each end, as well as having the diameters hand-written in pencil (see photos 8 thru 12). The plane measures 1 1/2" wide X 10 3/8" in length (including handle). Each sole measures approx. 1 7/16" X 8 1/8". I believe these pattern maker's planes and soles were manufactured in the UK. This is a beautiful old set and a nice addition to any collection. Please study photos as they are the best representation of the actual condition of the plane and soles. What you see is exactly what will be sent.
