Thisis an original 19th century oil on canvas depicting a summertimeview of wooded headland leading down to the beaches of ‘Parkstone, near Bournemouth’ by thelisted Royal Academy artist Arthur H.Davis (1846-1937). The paintingis signed by the artist and dated 1879. As with all of the original antique oil paintings we sell it isoffered in excellent condition, having beenprofessionally cleaned and re-varnished. He becamebest known for his coastal landscapes of Hampshire and his home county ofDorset. Between 1871 and 1893 he exhibited at the Royal Academy and the RoyalSociety of British Artists at the Suffolk Street Gallery. Oil paintings by Arthur H. Safeshipping is predominantly about correct packaging; we only use the highestquality fine art packaging materials. No second-hand bubble-wrap and reusedcardboards boxes here! Before leaving us, each painting takes us approximately2 to 3 hours to properly (i.e. safely and securely) package for transport;whether for a journey or 30 miles or 3000. Every painting is first wrapped inacid free paper and then the entire frame is enveloped in deep, dense foam Ucushioning. This is then covered in numerous layers of AirCap bubble wrap, which is the best and safest product of its type on the market. Sheets of highdensity fine art packaging card are then secured to the front and rear of thepainting with waterproof cloth tape before the painting is then fitted in placeinside a bespoke fine art shipping box. The entire package is then bound inblack shrink wrap (as used by airline companies) and a final later ofwaterproof cloth tape is applied to all corners, ends and edges.
