Collectible Rolex 1803 18k Day-Date Model!
Up for sale is an authentic vintage 1971 Rolex 18k gold 1803 model Oyster Perpetual Day-Date with interesting chocolate brown dial, and papers!The watch is in a 36 mm 18k yellow gold case, and will fit 20 mm straps. The dial is marked: Rolex Oyster Perpetual Day-Date Superlative Chronometer T Swiss T.The brown finish on the dial is original, but the diamonds appear to be later additions by a jeweler, not by Rolex.The ...finish on the dial is starting to chip away at the edges, see photos for condition.There are light scratches on the case, and some scratches on the back of the lugs from where the original bracelet was removed. The case back is engraved with initials.The serial number of the watch is 2792XXX. The model number is 1803. The model and serial numbers are clearly readable between the lugs.The watch winds (a little stiffly), sets smoothly, and runs. The day/date flip over at about 11:30pm instead of midnight. Also, the oscillating weight axle is loose. Servicing is recommended, and will smooth out the winding and correct the day/date change.We do not know the service history, and we do not guarantee the time keeping accuracy of this watch.The watch comes exactly as photographed and described.
