VINTAGE 1959 TUDOR SUBMARINER 7928 Stunning Granite Patina Gilt Chapter Ring
Item History & Price
This is a 1959 Tudor Submariner in excellent mechanical condition. The watch has a tropical bezel insert that is faded to the perfect shade of charcoal/black and an absolutely unbelievable granite patina on the dial that glistens in the sunlight. (please ask if you would like to see a video of the patina in the sunlight as the photo does not do it justice)
It runs great and was serviced in 20...18. The rotor is a replacement part, but I am including a rare 1950s ‘Swiss Patented’ rotor that is correct for the year.
The watch comes with an authentic 1950s Tudor box and display stand, as well as an authentic blank guarantee certificate and a certificate of authenticity from a major online retailer.
This 303xxx serial number dates the watch to late 1959. The caseback is not original to the watch but is a correct ‘gilt era’ Tudor 7928 caseback bearing the date markings III.65. The rivet 7206 bracelet is dated ‘68. The bracelet fits my 8.25” wrist.
The bad:-Poor relume on the hour hand at some point in the past.-a couple of nicks on the bezel and some scratches on the caseback as can be seen in the photos.
This is a vintage watch. Please examine the photos carefully and ask questions before bidding. The watch is currently under warranty but I do not believe it is transferrable, and I am not offering any warranty on the watch.
Absolutely no zero feedback bidders. North America only. Will not ship outside of North America.
