This is a heavy cast iron register with louver box. It was made by either Tuttle or Sutter & Bailey Mfg in NY.(the first letters in the name are a little hard to read. marked on back.. It is a 8 x 12 grate but measures outer dimensions of 9 3/4" X 13 3/4" . It is in its original condition with original finish. It has some surface rust. dates of 1885 and 86. I am not sure if I got this for that project or from that project. Anyway, we are done renovating and its time to lighte...n the weight in my attic! What a gem! The outside of the register flange measures 13 3/4" x 16 3/4". The outside of the louver box is 12" x 15 3/16". A great decorative register with ornate details.
