Lovely Old Refurb ' D Captain Black 1/4 Bent Rhodesian B9 Made By Orlik In London
Item History & Price
This is a Lovely Refurbished Captain Black 1/4 Bent Rhodesian B9 Made by Orlik in London for Adlard and Son of Shrewsbury. Orlik were established in Bond Street in London by Louis Orlik in 1899 with his marketing philosophy of "High Quality Pipes at Reasonable Prices". The brand also benefited from and... used the Danish Orlik Tobacco branding of "Shrewd Judges Smoke Orlik", a red robed Judge pictured on both products. The Cadogan Group bought the brand in 1980, but whether Captain Black Pipes remain in production seems uncertain. The briar of this Rhodesian is dark tan in colour with wonderful mostly Birdseye and some Straight graining, the bowl rim crisp and un-marked. The stem is a non-filter Fishtail, no visible logo, in great used condition. The bowl was lightly reamed and cleansed, the stem was fully sanitised to make the pipe ready to smoke as soon as you receive it, before the whole pipe was lightly polished and waxed to give the lovely finish you can see in the photos. The pipe draws and will smoke perfectly, sits so snugly in the hand, balanced and tactile.
Thanks for looking and as usual I will combine postage if you buy more than one of my items from this auction. European tracked postage is £9.85 and for the rest of the world is £11.85......I have had to increase charges following Royal Mail price increases in April but will still combine any number of pipes for the price of one.
