The 6 of swords depicts 6 swords; the 3 of batons shows 3 batons; etc. The suits are epees (swords), coupes (cups), batons or scepters (wands) and deiniers or coins (pentacles). Batons are straight and epees are curved for ease of distinction between the two suits. The major arcana and the c...ourt cards have the titles on them (in French), but the pips do not. Instructions are in English. La Justice (Justice) is VIII and La Force (Strength) is XI, as is the TdM style.
