I have never seen an example quite like this before where there is a meticulously painted design of a crinoline lady and her suitor in a...n impeccably embroidered garden.
The crinoline lady is feeding one of her dogs as her suitor arrives with a posy of flowers - the execution of the embroidered garden is meticulous. The colours are bright and are are in proper vintage silk threads
The background is a topiary garden - there is a blue sky with what appear to be marks but I think it's actually part of the design. I think that this States from the 1930s
This measures 17 and 1/2 in by 13 and a half in the frame of the tray is an extra inch. There is expected wear to the frame
Though it would be a great shame to remove this picture from the tray, it's well over 2 kg when packed so just not possible to post as a tray overseas. Posting to the UK I will unscrew the handles and wrap separately for easier posting
