PLEASE READ THISI know zip about watches!This watch belonged to my Dad who passed away in 1998. I can read that it is an Elgin and someone told me they did not think it is solid gold, but 10k gold filled. The face looks to me to be in good condition. I do not find scratches dents or dings anywhere on the watch. I noticed in some of my pictures a white cat hair, not a scratch. Sorry but I didn't see it until I uploaded. My cat tries to help me with everything.As ...you can see there is a gold filled chain too. I noticed that folks open watches some way to show the inside. Since I know nothing about watches, I did not try to open the watch? First of all I don't know how and I do not want to scratch or warp the watch in any way The same with winding. I only wound it a couple of turns and it ran for a little while. I did not want to damage the watch by winding it.As a person who knows nothing about watches, I concur that it will need cleaned and oiled ????
