ANTIQUE VICTORIAN ENGLISH GOLD FILLED TURQUOISE EXAPNDING MIZPAH BRACELET c1890
An antique English gold filled expandable bracelet / bangle, with the applied letters 'MIZPAH' set with faux turquoise & pearls. Mizpah is Hebrew for 'watchtower' and symbolises an emotional bond ("The Lord watch between me and thee, when we are absent one from another" - Genesis 31:49 of the Bible). A very collectible & extremely wearable Victorian bracelet!CONDITION: Generally good. Some sign...s of gilding wear & tarnish commensurate with age and use. One or two stones chipped, barely noticeable.DATE/MARKS: Late 19th Century. Not marked.DIMENSIONS: 16 mm wide, wearable length up to approx. 7 inches (1 inch = 25.4 mm).
