Stanwell's "Flame Grain" designation is not an easy one to find as it is reserved for high grade pieces. This amazing Plateau Freehand was designed by Sixten Ivarsson and is one of my all time favorite Stanwell shapes. The grain is nothing short of spectacular, more straight even than flame in a warm reddish brown finish. The shank has a vulcanite cap which holds the Danish style saddle stem with high grade gold (brass) inlaid crowned "S" reserved for the choice pipes! An absolutely ph...enomenal Stanwell, not to be missed.
