Tested and working. These drives were first formatted using either the Seagate SGATFMT4 program , then FDISKed, formatted in DOS, and finally, gets further testing with Spinrite on a 386DX-40 machine. Drives may or may not have bad sectors in addition to what's printed on the defect list on top of the drive. Although these are tested, these drives are all 30 years old or more, and anything can happen. Thus, they are being sold AS-IS, with no returns. If you have any problems, plea...se contact us and we can try to work something out.
Please take note that while these are RLL drives, we tested them using an MFM controller, so they show up as ~10MB drives. ST-225R drives are RLL drives and are certified by Seagate (when they were manufactured over 30 years ago) to have a higher capacity, due to the sectors per track being higher than with a regular MFM drive. It is your choice if you wish to use an RLL or MFM controller.
We've had people take advantage of returns before for not knowing how to properly configure MFM hard drives (we know, it can be daunting at times) or improper handling. Again, please be familiar with how these drives work and how to hook them up for your computer, prior to making a purchase.
