CONTROLLER for
RADIO SHACK TRS-80
COMPUTER
Used in BOX I used this as my X10 controller on my TRS-80 for many years. Information About the Item for Sale: Included: Appliance and Light Controller for Radio Shack Color Computer Control Unit TRS-80 Cartridge Instruction Manual ... Styrofoam Packing Box The TRS‑80 Color Computer Appliance/Light Controller: The TRS‑80 Color Computer Appliance/Light Controller (catalog number 26-3142) was Radio Shack's second TRS‑80-based X10 controller. It was introduced in 1985 for a price of $99.95. Unlike the earlier Plug'n Power Controller, the Appliance/Light Controller didn't work with the Model I or Model III. Instead of a cassette connection, the Appliance/Light Controller attached to the Color Computer using the serial port. Unlike the Plug'n Power Controller, the Appliance/Light Controller didn't use the TRS‑80 to directly control appliances. The included ROM Pak software could program events into the Appliance/Light Controller, but that was the end of the computer involvement. The Appliance/Light Controller would turn appliances and lights on and off according to a schedule and without dedicating a computer to the task. From a 1981 Radio Shack Computer catalog: Control up to 256 lights and appliances with your TRS‑80 Model I, III, or Color Computer. Activate security lights, start dinner, turn on the radio and much more — all from one central location! Nothing to install — just plug appliances into modules, and then into AC outlet and you're all set.
