RARE FIND ANTIQUE PRIMITIVE CIRCA 1700 ' S WOODEN AXLE GREASE BOWL

Original Description:
Up for consideration this rare find antique primitive circa 1700's wooden axle grease bowl measuring 4 3/4" tall by 6 1/8" wide. Pictures show hardwood was used which included part of a burl. Later bowl started to split, so blacksmith hand cut straps & used them as clamps-3 side & 2 bottom. On bottom inside, leftover grease has hardened over many years of use. This bowl was around during our American revolution war greasing wagon wheel hubs, etc. This wonderful item would ...look good in museum or great private collection.
