Enormous antique Japanese Arita hand painted porcelain charger.Circa late 1890's.Hand painted with trees and flowers on the rim. A black and gold palanquin nearby.Gold decoration decorated part of the plate. Most of the gold has disappeared. Only shadows remain.Hand written Arita kiln and name of artist on the back. There is also a stamp on the porcelain below the maker's mark.Excellent antique markings on the base.Condition: Signs of use but no crack or chip.Diameter: 39 cmWeight: 2.7... kilogrammeThe battery is there for size comparison only. It has nothing to do with the item.'Most of my collection is one of a kind. I bought the items because I liked it for myself. They were never intended to be resold. Each item has a story and when possible I hand carried in my luggage from all over the world to bring back to Australia. Some of the items have travelled a long way away and some of the items has been with me for 65 years. I am now retired and need to downsize.
