The SDrive-MAX is a floppy disk emulator for Atari 8bit series computer equipped with a SIO port.It works with an SD card up to 32GB formatted as FAT32 loaded with ATR, XEX, ATX and CAS images.It has a touch screen where you can select images to load on up to 4 virtual disk drives and it can also emulate a tape player and load CAS files.The case and sio plug is 3d printed, the case has a holder for the pen.
This SDrive-MAX incorporates a breakout board designed by Steve Boswell... by schematics of Berndt Herale, that allow the device to be connected with other devices on the same SIO chain bus without problems. That way you can copy from real floppy drives to sdrive and vice versa.It comes with the latest stable firmware for the included touch screen ILI9341 at the time of post (currently V1.1) and it can be upgraded with future firmware from USB port.
The device comes with external power supply (but missing a common type A to type B usb cable for postage weight issue) and it is preconfigured for usage with that external power supply, if you have an XE series of Atari and you have a new modern power supply for your computer (at least 1.5A), you can change a jumper inside the device to allow the sdrive to get power directly from it and not use the provided external power supply. Or you can ask me to jumper it like that with a message on your order. For all other Atari 8bit series, it is recommended to use the external power supply that is provided with this device.
