Original MITS Altair 8800 w/ 1K, PIO, Low Serial in Beautiful Working Condition
The most historically significant computer I've had the pleasure of working with!I saved this machine during a home clean out after a gentleman passed away in 2017.
Serial number 221041A. This makes it #1041, factory assembled (rather than a kit).Gorgeous condition! It looks nearly new inside and out.
Has original matching serial REV 0 CPU board and 1K Static RAM bo...ards installed. REV 0 PIO card also installed, serial #7000098. C8080 CPU date code N3479 puts it at ~Feb 1975
The only thing I have done is gently clean the unit, and reflowed 2 cold solder joints on the front panel. It could probably use a full harness reflow.
I have entered a simple blinking lights program, and it appears fully working. (Full RAM test and PIO not tested) Video available if you google "T1iG7HVLJGA"
Minor condition issues include minor dents in the case near the right rear bottom (see last pics). The front panel has a TINY bit of peeling (see last pics). A few other minor scratches here and there. I also noticed one of the cable retainers for the front panel harness is loose, but I dont really see a place to fasten it. I'll ziptie this bundle before shipping so its not bouncing around inside.
I take great pride in my retro computer builds, and fully stand behind my work!
This unit will be packed with care, shipped with insurance and signature confirmation.
Sorry, no international shipping on this one. It's just too risky for me. Use a shipping proxy service if you want to risk it.On Sep-10-19 at 13:16:24 PDT, seller added the following information:CORRECTION: International buyers can purchase. I will utilize eBay's Global Shipping Program to cover my butt in the event of a loss.
