*Here we have a rare piece from Paul McCobb’s Planner Group Line for Winchendon.*It’s a lift-top “Hanging Vanity” that is made to straddle 2 Planner Group Dressers but it can sit on top of a dresser as well. *There are 2 brackets on each side that can rest on the outside chests on hold it on but they can easily be removed.*I believe this is Model #1559 from the Planner Group Catalog and the finish color is called “Tobacco”.*Mirror lifts and stay in place at an angle an...d reveals 4 large compartments for jewelry, etc.*Check out the wood grain on the sides -looks like Birdseye Maple.*Measures 25” Wide x 18” Deep x 6” Tall. *Excellent Condition with moderate wear. The wood finish is very nice overall. There is the faint remnant of a cigarette burn on the middle of the top. *Also the mirror has some wear / blemishes from behind. Also noticeable wear to the Brass conical pulls. Usually this type of brass hardware can be polished / buffed out.*The white lining of one of the inner compartments is damaged / discolored probably from a spill.*Despite these imperfections it really does show well especially for a 60+ year old piece. And a rare one at that!
