A Victorian Bar or tobacconists lighter, in the form of a cast brass figural Mr Punch. He is mounted on a pedestal base, which would have been fixed to a bar or counter top and connected to the gas supply. A flame would have burned from the end of his cigar, for customers to light their cigars or cheroots. He has a inkwell screwed into his left hand and he is holding a feather Dip Pen in his right hand. The figure measures 5" or 127 mm tall and including the pedestal, it has ...a total height measuring 8 1/2" or 21.5 cm high and its base measures 4 5/8" or 118 mm wide. It has good casting details and great facial features. It is in a good used condition, with one unseen replacement screw in its base, as shown in photo's.
