Click images to enlarge Description Today we are delighted to offer for sale an adorable antique German Muller miniature sewing machine! Friedrich Wilhelm Muller of Berlin began producing toy sewing machines around 1885. His first machines were small cast iron models; these appealed dearly to children. After World War II, the Muller factory was in the American zone and resumed production of toy sewing machines in October 1945, using pre-war parts and producing machines that looked the same as the ones before the war started. This model number 15 machine, serial number 90724, was manufactured from 1930-1945. The piece features an expertly crafted cast iron body with black enamel paint finish, beautifully hand-painted with gilded foliate and floral designs. The machine appears to retains most (if not all) its' original pieces, including the rare wood hand-crank arm (most models had Bakelite handles). Miniature sewing machine is in good antique, as-found condition, with wear and patina commensurate with age. There are minor losses to painted finish and overall surface oxidation. Wheel is missing lower gear missing and hand crank does not spin. Ready for easy and fun restoration!
This special miniature piece will make a truly wonderful addition to any miniature sewing machine collection, and would make a great gift to a young child interested in sewing (a skill that is very useful to know!)... Fresh to the market!
