Apple II Silentype Thermal Printer With Apple Interface Card

Update: I noticed that my Dealer Diagnostics floppy has a "Silentype" test, so I installed the card, connected the printer to it and ran the test. Several of the tests ran good. Enough so that I can say that the card is good and that the card and printer communicate because the tests made the print head move. It does seem like the printer may have issues moving the paper and also even though a test said it printed, there was no printing on the paper. I don't know if this is because the... paper is very old or if it has something to do with the printer itself.
If you are an Apple II collector, then this is one piece of historical hardware you have to own. For sale is an Apple Silentype printer Model A2M0036 which Apple released on March, 1980 at a retail cost of $600 USD, over $1, 700 in today's dollars. The firmware was written by Andy Hertzfeld of the original Macintosh fame. The Silentype is a thermal printer, and uses thermal paper the same as fax machines and supports 80 column printing. Included is a specially designed interface card which plugs into a slot on an Apple II, or it can be plugged into the built in Silentype port on the Apple III. It is mechanically identical to Trendcom's Model 200, except for the Apple logo in the lower left corner of the front cover, but the internal digital board was redesigned by Apple, removing the relatively expensive microprocessor and memory chips, relying on software in the Apple II or III to handle the processing of printing data. The printer is easy to setup by placing the card in an Apple II slot (normally slot 1) and printing to that slot number (PR#1). The printer and card are in very nice condition as shown in the photos with slight yellowing.
