The El...gin Watch Company started out its long life in Chicago incorporated in 1864 as the National Watch Company. The company latter was named Elgin National Watch company headquartered in the Chicago suburb of Elgin Illinois. Latter the company was known simply as the Elgin Watch Company.
All American Made
American 18 Size Case. 54.15mm in diameter (not measuring the stem sleeve, crown or hinged bow) This case was produced by the B&B Royal Case Company and is their 20 year Gold Filled model. There is a beautiful engraved wildlife depiction of a running Deer on the case back.
This vintage timepiece has maintained its original Elgin National Watch Company single sunk porcelain dial. There is a tiny nearly invisible hairline at the seconds register.
The watch is powered by the Elgin National Watch Company factory hallmarked full Gold Gilt plate, compensated balance assembly, 11 Jewel, Model 3, Grade 10, stem wind, lever set movement.
This vintage watch has even maintained its original beveled glass crystal!
