Item History & Price
Reference Number: Avaluer:19258597 | Country/Region of Manufacture: Germany |
This is a large (7”) and wonderful example of a early German composition black cat with a witch rider candy container. The witch has a composition hat with a cardboard rim, a composition head with a great hook witch nose, red eye and forehead highlights, gray hair that is very well molded. She is wearing a black crepe paper blouse with curling ribbon straps that hold up a wide crepe paper belt and crepe paper dress, an orange crepe paper scarf around her neck, and all complete with a red crepe paper cape. She holds a wooden stick broom and has cotton wire legs and feet. She is riding a composition black cat candy container that is beautifully flocked and very well molded (you can see the cats ribs), the cat has a huge tail big ears, glass eyes that are yellow and black, pink nose and mouth, orange crepe paper collar, and his head comes off to reveal a candy container. This is a high quality piece because the candy container insert is covered in a design paper (usually a sign of higher quality). This piece is in excellent condition other than a little crepe paper and straw, on the broom, wear. This is a wonderful piece of early German Halloween at its finest.
