Antique Tin Halloween Parade Lantern Lamp Jack O Lantern RARE Early 1900s
Item History & Price

Collectors will instantly recognize this as one of the rarest and most highly prized Halloween collectibles. These tin lanterns were lit with a candle and carried on a stick in Halloween Parades in the early 1900s.
This lantern belonged to my grandmother who was born in 1909 in Berks County, Pennsylvania. I cannot say if she was the original owner (probably not), but it was hers as a child, ...and has been in the family ever since.
The inside metal candle holder is intact as are the original wood finial on top, and bottom spring/holder.
Minus the top finial and bottom spring, the lantern is six inches tall. I've included a photo with a six-inch ruler and standard #2 pencil for reference.
One half of the globe may be very slightly compressed, so care must be taken when opening it to avoid scratching the paint any further. (See photos) - but it does open completely.
I've tried my best to be completely accurate in this description. In real life, the color seems to be more on the brownish/orange side than what the brighter pictures represent.
