Here's a question I never thought would leave my lips. "Want to see a really beautiful battery charger?"
You're bidding on an uncommon Rectigon battery charger, manufactured by Westinghouse Electric in 1921. The charger was offered as an accessory for Westinghouse's RA/DA receiver, and I doubt many of them were sold, because in the decades that I've been buying and selling early radio-related gear, this is only the second one I've seen. The other one is pictured in Eric Wenaas's RCA radio "bible" -- Radiola: The Golden Age Of RCA.
The charger is original throughout, and given its age and utility, it's still in excellent condition, with vibrant original paint, complete charging cords, and an undamaged housing. Scattered nicks and other signs of wear and age, all visible in the pictures -- which you should consider an integral part of the description.
The charger is untested, and it's being offered for historical and/or collecting purposes only. It may indeed still work, if that's important to you, but I would definitely check out its electrical viability before connecting it to a wet cell battery of any type. Given that you can buy a brand new, perfectly safe wet cell battery charger at Advance Auto for about $30, I think you'd be certifiably insane to want to use this to charge a car or radio battery of any vintage. Just sayin'
